Welcome to Kunstuitleen Utrecht

At Kunstuitleen Utrecht you can rent and buy contemporary art. We are a non-profit organization and our mission is to facilitate people in enjoying visual art. Renting art is an ideal and popular way to enjoy unique pieces of art, not just in a museum, but in your own home!

The collection of Kunstuitleen Utrecht comprises 12,000 works of art varying from paintings, prints, photographs, design objects and sculptures, predominantly made by Dutch artists, but also international artists. It is a collection for both the experienced art connoisseur and the novice art lover. The value of these unique pieces range from € 500,- to € 5.000. The rental fee per year is € 69,-, regardless of the value of the art. In case of damages, we will charge a maximum of € 125,-. As a member of Kunstuitleen Utrecht, you are allowed to exchange your piece of art whenever you please, which enables you to experiment with different styles and techniques.

We work closely with art lease branches in Veenendaal and Vleuterweide. Please feel free to browse through our collection on www.kunstuitleenutrecht.nl. You can search by artist, style, technique, size and color. It will show whether the artwork is available. Even if the artwork is on loan, you can make a reservation. You will be notified when the artwork has been returned. If you reserve a piece of art from a different branche, we will charge € 5, - transportation costs. We sell professional hanging systems. That way, the art can be hung at the desired height without damaging the wall.

Most artworks will fit in a car. For those members without a car, they can use our "bakfiets", a cargobike (service only available in Utrecht). Once a year (usually in June), we organize the "Large Painting Days" and we provide transportation of large paintings to your home at marginal costs.

Are you interested in registering at Kunstuitleen Utrecht? Please visit us at the Maliebaan 42 in Utrecht or at one of our branches and take along your valid ID. You will be registered as a member ( for only € 69,- a year) and you can choose an artwork immediately. After your registration you can also select a piece of art online.
